the problem

Most people facilitate in Bali don't realise they need a Special Visa.

Thousands of retreat leaders, influencers, digital creators, and remote workers arrive in Bali each year on a standard tourist visa — not realising that being professionaly active in any capacity puts them in a completely different legal category. Indonesian immigration takes this seriously. Getting it wrong can mean fines, deportation, and being banned from the island you love. We've seen it happen. That's exactly why we built this service.

Confused by Indonesian immigration rules

Visa categories, extensions, biometrics, sponsorships — it's a maze. And the rules change. Navigating it alone is time you don't have.

Worried about being here illegally

A tourist visa does not permit you to teach, lead sessions, create paid content, or conduct professional activities in Indonesia. No grey area — and no exceptions.

Not sure who to trust for accurate information

Google gives you five different answers. We give you one — current, clear, and backed by our on-the-ground experience in Bali since 2019.

why this matters

don't risk

your retreat - or your Future in bali

This isn't about scare tactics — it's about protecting your income, your reputation, and your ability to keep coming back to Bali for years to come.

Fines & Deportation Are Real Risks

Indonesian immigration actively investigates foreign nationals who are professionally active on tourist visas. The consequences — fines, deportation, and re-entry bans — happen to real people every year.

A Tourist Visa Is Not a activity Permit

Whether you're leading a retreat, posting paid content, running coaching sessions, or consulting clients remotely — if you're earning income while in Bali, a tourist visa doesn't cover you.

Legal Compliance Protects Your Reputation

Operating within Indonesian law is part of your professional responsibility — to your clients, your brand, and your long-term relationship with Bali as a place you love and want to return to.

The Solution Is Simpler Than You Think

With the right guidance, the visa process is straightforward. You don't need to figure it out alone — that's exactly what we're here for.

A clear, guided process with no bureaucratic fog. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you reach out.

We recommend starting the visa process at least 4 weeks before your planned arrival date to allow time for any queries or additional documentation.

common questions

everything you need to know

Visa questions are completely normal — and we've heard all of them. If your question isn't here, just message us. We're happy to talk you through your specific situation.

  • Yes. The length of your stay is not the deciding factor — the nature of your activity is. If you are leading sessions, creating paid content, or earning income in any form while in Indonesia, you are legally required to hold the appropriate visa for that activity. We'll help you identify exactly which one applies to your situation.

  • A tourist visa — including the Visa on Arrival — is for leisure and tourism only. It does not permit you to teach, lead sessions, create paid content, or earn any income in Indonesia. An activity visa is the correct legal category for any professional activity. There is no grey area, and Indonesian immigration enforces this actively.

  • Yes, if you are creating paid content, running brand partnerships, or generating income through your online presence while physically in Indonesia. Indonesian immigration has become increasingly attentive to this. If Bali is part of your content and your content earns you money, you need the right visa. We'll help you get it sorted properly.

  • We recommend reaching out at least 4 weeks before your planned arrival date. The visa itself typically takes 5–14 business days to process once submitted, but gathering documents, coordinating sponsorship, and building in buffer time for any queries means earlier is always better. Message us as soon as your dates are confirmed.

  • Activity  visa eligibility is available to most nationalities, but requirements and processing details can vary depending on your passport and your specific type of activity. When you message us, we'll assess your individual situation and advise on any additional steps if needed.

  • We are not a visa agent — we are your guide through the process. We assess your situation, recommend the right visa type, and connect you with our trusted licensed Indonesian legal partner who handles the official application and sponsorship on your behalf. Activity visas in Indonesia legally require an Indonesian sponsor, which is something you cannot arrange independently.
