India is the birthplace of four great Dharmic Religions of the world namely Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism and countless sects and yogic and tantric traditions. Spirituality alone is the backbone for one’s life here, the bedrock and foundation.
The study of the Soul (Atman) and the real nature of existence has been done for thousands of years. The rich tradition of questioning and truth seeking has led to the spiritual culture which is just as much alive today as it was so many years ago…. We bow down to the ancestors who came before us, leaving this great beauty and essence of India for us to enjoy.
"This is indeed India; the land of dreams and romance, of fabulous wealth and fabulous poverty, of splendor and rags, of palaces and hovels, of famine and pestilence, of genii and giants and Aladdin lamps, of tigers and elephants, the cobra and the jungle, the country of a thousand nations and a hundred tongues, of a thousand religions and two million gods, cradle of the human race, birthplace of human speech, mother of history, grandmother of legend, great-grandmother of tradition, whose yesterday’s bear date with the moldering antiquities of the rest of the nations…the one land that all men desire to see, and having seen once, by even a glimpse, would not give that glimpse for the shows of all the rest of the globe combined" ( Mark Twain)

Spiritual capital of India - is the birthplace of Buddhism around 500 BCE. Varanasi is a cultural center on the banks of the Ganges; a major Hindu pilgrimage destination, millions of visitors flock in droves every year to bathe in the sacred and Ganges.
One cannot miss the sunrise cruise by rowing boat on the Ganges and to hear the sound of temple bells and devotional chanting, there are some 23,000 temples in Varanasi, presenting an eye opening, Spiritual experience that will be etched in your memory forever. All life (and death) is played out on the temple-lined ghats that lead to the waters of the sacred river.
Ascetics, pilgrims, and travelers come from every corner of India and beyond come to the Holy city of Varanasi to perform rituals, practice yoga, meditate, study, learn traditional music, or cremate their loved ones (to die here is to achieve salvation in the Hindu religion).
At the Manikarnika Ghat, death is celebrated. Remorseful chants are sung every hour of the day and smoke engulfs the area day and night as dead bodies are cremated for eternal peace. The ghat is also known as the gateway to heaven by many worshipers.
Explore beyond the ghats and stroll down the maze of narrow alleyways to immerse yourself into quintessential Indian experience of chaos and colour, lively bazaars, street foods, exquisite silks, holy cows, lassi stalls, festivals, temples and palaces. At Sunset, the ghats burn bright with Ganga Aarti Ceremony - Prayer and Rituals with Butter-lamps dedicated to Sacred Ganges. Smell of incense and the sound of mantras creates a soulful atmosphere. It is a true Indian Experience.
Yoga Capital of the World - and the birthplace of Yoga lies in the foothills of the Himalayas surrounded by tranquil hills. Rishikesh is a rejuvenating land booming with ancient temples, popular cafes, Yoga Ashrams (Centres for Spiritual studies) and Meditation Centers. With a host of spirituality, yoga, meditation and ayurvedic programs on offer, Rishikesh is the one of those places where one gets to see a convergence of spirituality and nature.
Ganga Aarti Ceremony of Rishikesh similar to Varanasi is done every evening on the banks of Holy and Sacred Ganges.
The enclave downstream from Rishikesh on the eastern bank of Ganges called Tapovan - literally translated to Mediation Forest - is an Alcohol-free, Vegetarian only space where the world-renowned Yoga schools are found, where tens and thousands of students across the world come to learn Yoga from esteemed Yoga teachers.
One of the attractions of Rishikesh is Beatles Ashram where Beatles with their families had lived for months in the late 60's and learned 'Transcendental Meditation' techniques and released one of their best works ' The White Album ' with many influences from Rishikesh. Enjoy the chill vibe that is Rishikesh.
The Buddhist Capital of India - is nestled in Cedar forests of Himalayas. Dharmashala is a Home for His Holiness 'Dalai Lama' - Spiritual leader of Buddhism and for Tiberian Government-in-exile. Since then it has grown into a mini Lhasa with a thriving Tibetan Buddhist community of maroon-robed monks, not to mention a cosmopolitan collection of tourists, dignitaries, backpackers, scholars, and Buddhists from all over the globe.
Seekers from across the world come to visit the 'Tsug Lhakhang Complex' housing a monastery, a golden Buddha statue, the Dalai Lama’s modest residential quarters, and an excellent museum covering the Dalai Lama’s life and work.
Dharmashala is dotted with multicolored prayer wheels; a colorful bazaar of Tibetan cafes and shops offer the steady stream of pilgrims, monks, and tourists everything from momos (Tibetan Dumplings) and butter tea to prayer wheels and singing bowls. For a more spiritual experience, join the prostrating pilgrims absorbed in meditation and prayer on the circular path through the cedar forest below the temple complex.
