A half-day exploration of regenerative farming by Begawan.


Immerse yourself in Bali’s traditional rice farming practices and learn the roots of the island’s agricultural heritage on a regenerative farm in Bayad Village, Payangan. 


Surrounded by the beauty of the Balinese countryside, discover the story of the subak, Bali’s irrigation channels that date to the 9th century; the origins of Mansur Heritage Rice, a heritage grain that’s one of many Balinese varieties of rice; as well as the process of planting, growing, and harvesting rice in Bali – a way of life that is an integral part of Balinese culture for centuries.

  • A guided half‑day exploration of a regenerative farm and permaculture garden, focusing on heritage rice cultivation, composting, and poultry systems.

  • The experience lasts approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, plus up to 45 minutes for optional lunch.

  • Lunch isn’t mandatory. You can opt for a set lunch and non‑alcoholic beverage for an additional cost.

  • Guided walks through rice fields, permaculture gardens, a composting house, and poultry area, ending with a refreshing drink; lunch can be added as an upgrade.

  • Tours start at 9 AM at the Begawan Giri Milling House in Bayad Village and are available Wednesday–Sunday.

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes, hat, bring a refillable water bottle, and binoculars are recommended.

  • You’ll discover the subak irrigation systems, heritage rice varieties like Mansur, permaculture practices, composting, and poultry rearing.
