DESIGN YOUR OWN BIKINI
Design Your Own Bikini is a creative workshop in Canggu where women create a one-of-a-kind bikini from scratch and walk out wearing it the same day. It's a fun, feel-good activity that fits beautifully into any women's retreat, whether your group loves fashion or just wants a light, playful break between sessions.
The workshop was created by two sisters who grew up in Kenya and wanted to build a space where women connect, even as strangers. Every bikini base is sewn right here in Bali by local artisans, and their friendly team guides each guest through every step, so no experience is needed.
The session starts with choosing how you'd like to wear your triangle bikini, then picking your colours from five signature shades inspired by Bali. You can mix and match the top and bottom, then add beads, shells and statement pieces to make it truly yours. Those who pick a white base can even hand-press prints onto the fabric. Around a small, intimate table, conversations flow and the laughter comes easily, making it just as much about the moment as the bikini itself.
This activity takes place in Canggu, South Bali, about 1 to 1.5 hours from Ubud. The workshop can be enjoyed at their atelier, or the team can bring the whole experience to your retreat venue for larger groups.

Do I need any sewing or design experience?
Not at all. The team guides you through every step, from choosing your colours to adding the final details. All you need is a bit of enthusiasm and your own sense of style.
How long does the workshop take?
About 1.5 hours. That's enough time to enjoy the process without rushing and leave with your finished bikini, ready to wear.
How many people can join?
Their atelier welcomes up to 6 guests per session, which keeps things small and personal. For bigger retreat groups, the team can bring the workshop to your venue for up to 20 participants.
Can we have a private session just for our group?
Yes. Groups of up to 6 can enjoy an exclusive session at the atelier, and larger groups can have a private session at their retreat venue.
What colours can I choose from?
There are five signature colours inspired by Bali: Black Sand (black), Ocean Breeze (blue), Mermaid (pink), Seashell (pearl) and Untouched Shore (white). You can mix and match them however you like.
What sizes are available?
Sizes S, M, L, and XL are available, and you can choose different sizes for the top and bottom. The straps are adjustable for a better fit.
Can the bikini be worn in different ways?
Yes. The triangle design is timeless and versatile. The top can be styled in 6 different ways, and the bottom can be adjusted for more or less coverage.
Who is this activity best for?
It's designed for women and is perfect for women's retreats, girls' trips, birthdays and bachelorette groups. Solo guests are very welcome too, and many make new friends around the table.
Is this activity suitable if we're staying in Ubud?
This activity is best for groups staying in Canggu or elsewhere in South Bali. Canggu is well known for its heavy traffic, so the drive from Ubud can easily take 2 to 3 hours each way, and that's a lot of time on the road for a 1.5 hour workshop. If your retreat is based further away, we'd suggest planning this on a day your group is already in the South Bali area.
