SACRED LINGSAR CYCLING TRAIL

Sacred Lingsar Cycling Trail is a gentle morning ride through the heart of West Lombok, ending at one of the island’s most meaningful places. Lingsar Temple was built in the 18th century around a sacred spring. It’s the holiest temple complex in Lombok, where Hindus and followers of Wetu Telu, a Sasak blend of Islam and local beliefs, have worshipped side by side for generations.

Your ride is led by friendly, English-speaking local guides who grew up around these villages. They know the backroads, the families and the stories behind every stop, and they’re happy to slow down whenever something catches your eye.

The journey starts in Lembah Sari Village and winds through a lively morning market, then crosses the Mambalan River on a suspension bridge with wide views over the rice fields. Along the way, you’ll pass through peaceful Hindu villages, taste local snacks at a roadside stall, see villagers crafting with ketak grass, and visit a family making kerupuk, Lombok’s crunchy crackers. After one short uphill stretch comes an easy cruise downhill, a stop at a traditional Sasak house, and finally Lingsar Temple, where a local guide shares its story.

This activity takes place in West Lombok, about 30 minutes’ drive from Senggigi.
