Journey to one of Bali's most sacred purification sites for an authentic Melukat ceremony, guided by a local priest at a natural waterfall sanctuary hidden within a canyon. Unlike many holy water sites on the island, Taman Beji Griya Waterfall is the only place where a cascading waterfall forms part of the purification process itself, making this a deeply immersive and physically striking spiritual experience.

The ceremony unfolds in five stages, each carrying its own symbolic meaning. Participants begin with a purification shower inside a hidden canyon cave, followed by cleansing at the natural springs. Next comes the emotional release beneath the waterfall itself, before a further purification shower at the pool. The ceremony closes with a final blessing using young coconut water, poured by the priest as a symbol of purity and renewal. Throughout, guests are guided respectfully through each stage, with prayer offerings and ceremonial items provided on site.

Once a private hermitage belonging to a local priestly family, the site was opened to the public in 2018 so its holy water could be shared more widely. Today it remains an active place of worship for the local Balinese community, giving guests a rare, authentic window into living Balinese Hindu spiritual practice rather than a staged tourist ritual.
