TEMPOS VALLEY & POTTERY RIDE

Tempos Valley & Pottery Ride is a half day cycling adventure through farmland, quiet villages and sweeping valley views, finishing in Lombok’s most famous pottery village. It’s an easygoing way for retreat groups to see the island’s countryside beyond the beaches.

Your English-speaking guide knows every corner of these farming communities and loves sharing the everyday side of village life. Expect plenty of friendly waves from farmers and children along the way, and plenty of stops to take it all in.

After a pick-up from your hotel, the ride begins in Gunung Sasak Village and rolls through the green farming areas of West Lombok. Rice paddies stretch out on both sides, and soon the valley of Tempos Village opens up below you. Along the route, you’ll watch locals shaping clay bricks by hand and cross an old bridge from the Dutch colonial era. The ride ends in Banyumulek, the largest pottery centre on the island, where you can see artisans shaping clay pots before heading back to your hotel.

Note: This ride takes place in West Lombok, so if you’d love to join, we suggest staying in Lombok. Check out our venue partners in Lombok here.
