TETEBATU RAINFOREST & RICE TERRACE RIDE
Tetebatu Rainforest & Rice Terrace Ride takes you deep into East Lombok’s green countryside, on the southern slopes of Mount Rinjani. Often compared to Ubud before it became busy, Tetebatu is all emerald rice terraces, cool mountain air, waterfalls and forest. It’s a full adventure for active groups who love nature.
The day starts on foot, with your guide leading a gentle walk into the forest to spot the black leaf monkeys that live there. Your guide also knows the local farmers and craftspeople along the route, so the ride feels less like a tour and more like being shown around by a friend.
After the forest walk, you’ll hop on your bike and follow small country roads past rice terraces, pineapple fields and coffee plantations. About 30 minutes in, you’ll stop at Sarang Walet Waterfall for a refreshing swim. From there, you’ll ride on through Kembang Kuning Village, where locals make bricks from clay, and finish in Pringgasela, a village known for its traditional hand weaving. You can watch the weavers at work and even try it yourself.
Note: Tetebatu is in East Lombok, so we suggest staying in Lombok, ideally in East Lombok or near Tetebatu, to make the most of this day. Check out our venue partners in Lombok here.
